Soothing to the Soul

God's Word is definitely the only thing that can lastingly soothe my heart.

In an effort to find some answers to my never ending visits to doctor offices and hospitals God led me to some verses (and some chocolate). Romans 8:31-35 and Romans 8:37-39...

What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything? Who can bring an accusation against God's elect? God is the One who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us. Who can separate us from the love Christ? Can affliction or anguish or persecution or familine or nakedness or danger or sword?

No, in all these things we are more than victorious through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Then, as usual, He used them again at church last night. God is just sweet that way, isn't He! Bottom line... God's Word is much more lasting and filling than even chocolate :)

We are getting super excited about traveling once again to China. In the midst of setting up doctors appointments today God sent a very nice nurse my way who provided lots of information, advice and insight into the medical needs we think Micah may have. It was very encouraging and helpful!

Isaac seems to even be a bit excited. He's still nervous about the food but he is talking about the trip more.

Pictures of the kids coming soon... still trying to get back to a normal routine after Josh's surgery and Christmas break.
