Tuesday in China

This is the day that I got to teach the Kindergarten level class. It was so much fun to interact with the kids as they learned and played. It was a new and fun experience teaching through a translator.
Here are pictures of the kids in the Clubfoot Unit playing. You know- it amazed me how few times I ever heard a child cry while we were at the House of Love. The kids really only cried when we walked in the room during the first part of the week since we were strangers. They quickly warmed up to us and most of them were fine with us toward the end of the week. The kids' needs get quickly met and the carers were always holding, caring for, or playing with someone.

Here the kids are rolling a tractor back and forth to each other.

This was one of my favorite times in the Clubfoot Unit. In the afternoon the kids paint and they ALL just love it! They each fully painted their piece of paper and took such care in what they were doing. As soon as the brushes and paints came in they were sitting down getting ready to make their masterpieces.

In the evening we went out to eat and had a great meal. It was here that Elizabeth ate her first fish eye!!

Before first taste of fish eye....
 After....
It was a great meal with great company. I am missing Chinese food now! It doesn't help that I haven't made it to the grocery for more than milk and eggs yet AND Yi is in Boston until Sunday!
